I BELIEVE in the POWER of CONNECTION, COMMUNITY and POSITIVITY!

ABOUT ME

Before veterinary medicine found me, I spent my early career in education teaching sex education, sexual assault prevention, and using theatre and music to help at-risk youth connect with themselves, their communities, and their futures in meaningful ways. Looking back, so much of what I loved about that work still shapes who I am today: helping people feel seen, building connection, and creating spaces where humans can grow.

Veterinary medicine entered my life almost accidentally when I covered a maternity leave at my family veterinarian’s practice one summer. What started as a temporary front desk position quickly became a full-blown love affair with the profession, the people, and the beautifully chaotic world of veterinary practice life. I never looked back. 🐾✨

Over the years, I worked in nearly every corner of the hospital and eventually pursued veterinary technician training through the AAHA DEVTP program. I fell in love with the science of medicine and patient care, but I also realized my heart truly lived at the intersection of people, leadership, operations, and culture. I moved into leadership roles focused on team development, client experience, hospital operations, and helping practices create workplaces where both people and patients could thrive.

More than two decades later, I now work as a speaker, consultant, writer, and leadership coach focused on helping veterinary teams build healthier cultures, stronger systems, and more sustainable ways of working together. I was honored to receive the 2017 Founders Award and to be named the 2023 Speaker of the Year at Uncharted Veterinary Conference.

Today, I serve as the CEO of Pride Veterinary Medical Community, where I lead work centered around advocacy, education, belonging, and creating a more inclusive future for the veterinary profession. I’m also work with hospitals across the country as a fractional practice manager and consultant. My work focuses on helping teams strengthen leadership, improve operations, navigate growth, and build people-centered cultures that support both the humans providing care and the clients and patients they serve. I especially love helping practices untangle workflow chaos, improve communication, optimize systems, and create operational structures that actually support the humans inside them.

I’m also a self-proclaimed vet med nerd and unapologetic technology geek, especially when it comes to practice management software, workflow optimization, inventory systems, and leveraging technology to create clarity instead of confusion. I firmly believe good systems should support humans, not replace them, and that culture and operations are deeply intertwined.

Home for me is the Pacific Northwest, where I live among the orcas and evergreens with my two teenage humans and my extraordinarily spoiled feline companions: Pepper Potts, Bootsy Collins, and Newt(on) Scamander. Their antics occasionally make appearances online via #pepperpottsgoss, #bootsycollinsgoss, and #newtscamandergoss.
